Manga interiors are usually printed on lightweight paper to balance print clarity and cost. You can choose between coated and uncoated options depending on the effect you want—smooth and glossy for image-rich designs, or uncoated for a more traditional or textured feel.
For covers, the paper choice often depends on your binding style. We typically use heavier coated or uncoated stock, but you can also use the same paper as the interior—known as a “self-cover.” Self-covers are the most inexpensive option.

The right binding depends on your page count, budget, and how you want the book to be read. These are the main options:
Sewn Perfect Bound
A widely used style for graphic novels, this method involves printing and folding interior pages into groups (signatures), stitching them together, and gluing them into a softcover.
Hardcover Binding
Durable and elegant, hardcover books are sewn together and cased in with thick covers. Great for professional and long-lasting projects.
Saddle Stitch Binding
Simple and affordable, this method uses staples to hold pages together. Best for smaller booklets with 4–64 pages like comic books, manuals, and coloring books.

Holographic Cover
Print your design on a special paper that reflects light in a rainbow-like pattern.
Leather Cover
Wrap your book in a durable synthetic leather material.
Cloth Cover
Cover your book with woven linen or cotton fabric .
Die Cut
Uses a custom-made metal die to cut paper into specific shapes.
Perforated Line
A row of small holes that makes it easy to tear off part of the paper.
Tear Strip
A built-in tape that allows the paper to be opened easily and cleanly by pulling along the strip.

You'll need to add a "bleed zone" of 0.125" around all your pages.
Convert your colour space from RGB to CMYK
If you can't deliver vectors then make sure the resolution is 300 PPI.
Export your files in PDF format for the best results.

What are the common manga sizes?
Manga dimensions vary depending on genre, format, and design. Here are a few of the most popular sizes:
- Standard Manga Size: 5″ × 7.5″
- Popular Manga Size: 6.625″ × 10.25″
- Economical Sizes: 5.5″ × 8.5″ and 8.5″ × 11″

What paper is manga printed on?
Most commercial manga is printed on uncoated or lightly coated woodfree paper in the 60–80 gsm range. For full-color or premium editions, gloss or matte art paper in the 105–157 gsm range is more common. We offer a wide selection of papers so you can tailor the look and feel of your manga to the story you’re telling.
For covers, heavier stock is usually used—typically 200–300 gsm coated paper with optional lamination. You can also use the same paper as the interior, known as a “self-cover,” to keep costs low. Our team can help you decide the best combination of papers based on your goals.
What are the differences among doujinshi, manga, comic and graphic novel?
We welcome all creators, whether you’re making a personal doujinshi, a mainstream manga, or something in-between. Here’s a quick overview:
- Doujinshi: Fan-made or indie works, often self-published and produced in small runs. Usually saddle-stitched and printed on budget-friendly paper.
- Manga: Japanese-style comics with a strong focus on visual storytelling, often serialized and collected in volumes. Typically perfect bound.
- Comics: A broader category that includes Western single-issue stories and series, often in full color.
- Graphic Novels: Longer, standalone works—fiction or nonfiction—bound like traditional books and often printed in color on heavier stock.
